Hello world!
It’s been a month and a half since my last blog…So sorry po, lots has happened and I’m always low on the go! (read: sleeping, bumming around, watching TV, seeing friends)…
Anyweiz today, my 5th chemo session (1st session of 3rd cycle!) will push through na! Hay thank God my infection was cured and it reflected in the lab tests I’ve undergone yesterday :) Thank you very much for all the support that you’ve extended our way since I’ve lots of additional medications and lab tests…
December was a busy month, I felt super strong ako…after my 3rd session I went to see my good friend Tess from Canada on her birthday…Last time I saw her was before college graduation …. Geez..she looks better now and what a cute daughter she has! Despite of what she is undergoing right now, she manages to extend her help…thank you very much Tess….I'm not sure if she manages to contact our other classmates as well... Bambi from Canada is here also I dont know kung nagkita na sila....Thank you Bambi for the extended help :) Muah!
Then that weekend we went to Gloria’s daughter’s dedication and 1st birthday….Commute lang kami to Malolos Bulacan! Eh syempre instructions ni Glo eh pang commute lang…hehehe…. We had a great fun there since we saw another collegemate Joyce..Mansion ang house niya! and the location is so ideal for my condition, kasi walang pollution…kaso Malolos?! Geez…sobrang layo nun! Malamang lagi akong half day kapag pumapasok na ako sa office…hehehe…Tin Balintong and her son were there too…Pati si Ronnie and Lema and Ron Michael…wala atang jet lag yung pamilyang yun… :)
Before my session, i've met up with some of my closest and dearest friends...yvette, marge, lanie and fel.... dinner and tambay...late na kasi me pasok pa sila so we call it off mga ten pm...we missed the others since hindi sila avail :(
Then Dec 21 it’s time for another session…Ayoko ngang Dec 22 kasi Christmas Eve na malamang kami makarating ng bahay ... Ewan ba I felt so strong kaya ako ang nagluto sa amin…..Then Christmas Day we went to Antipolo sa aking mga Auntie…Ayos naman…I’ve never felt yung need to lay down..Maybe It’s because of Jesus’s birthday…He likes na I will join the usual festivities….
Then Dec 26 bonding with my hubby….Mall mall lang . Then Dec 28 bonding kami ng mommy ko at mga pamangkin ko (Geco, Gerome,Maia)…Atat na sila sa mall…pasyal pasyal lang…Then Dec 29-30 bonding with my college barkada in Tagaytay!
Super enjoy kami swimming (ngatog!) luto luto…kwentuhan…catching up with our lives..ang lalaki na ng mga kids ng mga friends ko! kahit na me bouts ako ng hilo sakit ulo at throwing up go pa din sa charade..hehehe….Nexy Day we went to Palace in the sky ..Good thing we have a heavy breakfast…Thank you Grace sa masarap na sinangag! At yung mga dalang food nina Marge..the best! Hehehe…Marie salamat din sa kfc at mga pinamili ninyo…at Ronnie! Salamat sa lunch yum yum!
Small world!, We met sir harry (former boss of Richard, ramil and aldo) in Dencio’s Tagaytay..dalaga at binata na mga anak nila…
Then my mom’s bday came Dec 31. Traditionally si ate nagprepare food ako tiga mando lang….eh something sad happen. Namatay yung byenan nya na since before Christmas eh nasa hospital na….so ako syempre hindi ko matiis na dadaan ang new year without celebrating the good past year and looking forward for a better year..and syempre need din nina ate ang food at yung mga bata…kaya ako feeling super girl …. Ayun Jan 1, ubo ubo at sipon na…..Time for my chemo jan4, bagsak lahat ng labtests :( Then nilagnat na ako…Monday bagsak pa din so conclusion : infection..
Kaya I was advised to stay at home, take the medications para magamot yung infection and hopefully mawala na ang lagnat lagnat…eto Sunday nagpalabtest kami..and this morning lumabas tests…I am okay! Good to go for another bout of chemo….
There are some implications in my new schedule…ubos na mga leaves ko…so malamang sa end of January ..wala na ako sahurin hahaha….well, important naman e gumaling na ako and I’m sure there are better things store for me :)
Wishing nga kami na sana magkaroon kami ng ibang matuluyan…yung tipong walang pollution….kasi at present yung house naming slum area kung titignan….good thing that sa likod bahay yung tanaw ng mini terrace ko e bukid….ewan ko lang if in the next months meron pa akong matanaw at malanghap na sariwang hangin…kasi daw magiging c-6 na yun tapat naming plus yung Camella prestige ata ginagwa na :) well bahala na si Lord..malay ninyo bukas manalo ako sa lotto… ooopsss di pala kami tumataya! Hehehe
O siya I’m off to the hospital again…its one of my good days…good kasi I know those darn nodules will be melted away by the chemo drugs..after that better days since I will be returning to my old routine :)
Anyways, sa mga lahat ng mga tumutulong, maraming salamat sa inyo!
Thanks Lord for these people who touches my life...
Ciao!

1st cycle (two sessions)... Done!
Time flies so fast. It would be my 3rd session on Dec 7! Oopsss, December 8 pala. I moved the chemo session since I want to attend our company Christmas party on December 8, lunchtime. Good thing that my doctor allowed me to extend as long as I am in the hospital around 5 PM on Saturday…With the Christmas traffic, goodluck to me! Might as well eat and run?! hehehe
Since officially it would be my 2nd cycle (as mentioned that I need 12 sessions to complete the 6 cycles) I would be undergoing a series of blood tests and cancer markers…Hope my platelets will be normal so as to push with the session…
Pardon if I haven’t post since my last session, been busy with work lately and then our internet connection seems to walkout with Trillanes and company :)
Last session went out well. Aside from the fact, that my IV line went kaput again so it needs to be reinserted. It’s my first time to cry - with pain, self-pity, all-in one. Since it took the resident doctors 7 tries before they can find a decent nerve to put the IV…Imagine, they must have thought that I am a human pin cushion…Good thing that the dark marks are almost gone or somebody must thought that I might have been beaten or something…
I am wondering if I will experience this every session…Been searching the net for ways to have a clear and strong nerves so as it will not bulge, but to no avail... One suggestion is to exercise, any other than that? :)
Anyweiz the last session cost higher than the first one. Since there has been a delay in my session (remember the 7 IV attempts?) we are charged 3 days in the hospital. Then PhilHealth changed their rules so they deduct a smaller amount than previous session :( They even ask me to leave my ID huhuhu…I will get it on my next visit!
Well it’s good thing that help keeps on coming our way. Our Ninong/Ninang from Belgium sent some money that would almost cover my medication for one session :)
One rainy night I was surprised to find a courier delivering the money sent from my very good friend Eva from Canada…
Then you guys, despite of your own difficulties, continue to deposit your hard-earned money to our account.
So I am continously praising God since He trully works thru you my dear friends! We can't thank you enough for all those financial support and your PRAYERS!
Anyweiz as promised I will post the total money that all of you guys send us and our total expenditures for November.
Nov 30, 2007
Total amount Received = PHP 104,972.75
1st session total = 48,000
2nd session total = 50,000
Total Spent = 98,000
My doctor waived her professional fee, as always!
I have to pay 24,000 last November for partial payment of the previous loan I got to cover the 1st session. So :
Remaining Pledge= 80,972.75
Remaining Loan = 74,000 (98,000 spent – 24,000 paid)
This is as of November 30.
You might be surprised why I didn’t pay the entire loan. I am reserving it for emergency like this December 8 session. We are not fortunate to get a loan that will cover the session so I might use some of the pledges. In any way, I will keep on updating you guys!

Day 15...
Wow! How time flies…. It’s day 15 and it’s time for another chemo session. It will be my 2nd session…. 10 more to go!
I’m now in the hospital waiting for my CBC with platelets count results. I’m so bombarded with work since I got back to work last Wednesday Nov 14, 2007. Last night we left the office almost 12 midnight…Good thing that my hubby is so patient waiting for me to wrap up my work since I am scheduled to be out again for three days.
So far I am now stronger than last week. I was able to walk more, eat more, and talk more! Hihihi…The numbness and tingling in my left arm persists from time to time. I already resigned myself that I will easily feel tired and accepted the fact that I will have difficulty of breathing from time to time…
Good thing that when my dear friend from college Tintin Balintong visited me in our not-in-the-map house last Tuesday, I am already stronger and was able keep my eyes open for a couple of hours. And of course able to talk non stop It is also great that when my dear friend from college also Dennis Odiaz and his wife visited me in the hospital Sunday morning, I was finished suffering from feeling sick and throwing up everything I eat. Unlike when Ate Marrot and Auntie Linda (my hubby’s cousin and aunt) visited me Saturday aftenoon, I could barely hold myself.
At first I was hesitant as I am still slow in walking. I constantly pray that I will be able to arrive at the office before sunset falls. Add the fact that I am not allowed to expose myself to too much cold as my arms are so painful… But if I stay in a place where its is humid or warm (like our house) I have difficulty in breathing…so I opt to endure the numbness instead of staying at home
The past days prove that God really make a way…I’ve never expected that aside from the people I emailed and beg for financial support, there would be others that are willing to extend some help. I was overwhelm when my dear friend Yvette told me the news that their relatives and friends from the US are sending their help. Some friends also forwarded my email and I think there are those who sent help anonymously.
I also didn’t expect that the response I’ll get will be that enormous. Thank you all for sending and pledging your sacrifices….
As of this time even though we are not able to get the full amount needed for all my cycles, somehow my medications will push through smoothly. It seems that God is sending his angels to lighten up the load that we are carrying….
As of last night, when I checked my bank account, the accumulated love offerings/pledges is 56,500! By the end of this month I will post the total amount that I’ve received and the total money spent for the two sessions.
God bless everyone!

Day 5 and counting...
Yep! you read it right...First cycle of chemo started last Nov 9. Thank you very much guys! kung di dahil sa inyo, hindi ako magkalakas ng loob na simulan na agad...
oopppsss...im getting ahead of the story...hehehe...excited kasi ako....biro mo after ilang days na nakatengga ako sa hospital e ngayon lang ako nagkaroon ng lakas na magcomputer hehehe...akala ko up to bukas pa ako malowbat...
nweiz here is my chemo plan para clear na din...medyo alam ko magulo yung mga explanation ko previously so eto trying my best to explain kung paano ba talaga sya (kuya?!) hihihi...
i am supposed to get 6 cycles of chemo. every cycle is composed of 28 days. in each cycle i am required to be confined in the hospital for almost 3 days para iadminister yung chemo drugs, twice. administration is thru IV(dextrose)...
so as i've mentioned na nagstart na yung first cycle ko nung nov 9 eto yung chemo plan,
here is the schedule:
(Nov 09-Nov 11) - confine sa hospital , so this is the start meaning Day 1 to 3
- Day 4 up Day 14 - go home, rest, work (if kaya) go on with life hihihi
(Nov 23-Nov 25) - confine again for 2nd session,
- Day 15 up Day 17
(Nov 26-Dec 06) - go home, rest, work (if kaya) go on with life hihihi Day 18- Day 28
- Day 28 (Dec 6) ends the first cycle
Day 1 (2nd cycle) - Dec 7...
ganun lang yung cycle....in between sessions i am required to undergo some tests to check kung okay ba yung mga platelets ko...this is to ensure that i am strong enough to continue...so dapat sandamakmak na talbos ng kamote at kangkong ang kainin ko ano para maiwasan bumagsak yung mga cells cells na yan, or else me gamot na ituturok sa akin which costs daw na 6000...haller! wishing that 100 pesos worth of kamote tops will surely do the job :)
for the past 12 sessions na nadaananan ko, this so far the hardest chemo treatment that i have experienced...now ko lang naranasan sobrang hilo, suka at hinang hina...hirap akong huminga...pang 13 n ito...so perhaps a good sign that better days are near...well, God didnt promise naman a smooth road, so since you guys sacrificed a lot to fund my treatment, better do my share by being strong and ask God more strength... I can't thank you enough, sa support and prayers nyo... May God Bless you all...
at first i was hesistant to start the session nung nov 9 kasi nga medyo di ko pa alam kung kakayanin yung payments. But God really made a way. Initially di ba 100K ang estimate sa akin per session so that means 200K per cycle. I was given a choice to do the chemo in delos santos medical center instead of st lukes tutal nagclinic din naman ang doctor ko dun. then if sa delos santos i will be able to get the medicine cheaper kasi sa med rep ko bibilhin thru my doctor. sympre mas cheap ang room ang board sa delos santos....
so i opted muna for a generic medicine since medyo malaki din ang difference kung branded. stayed in delos santos for almost 3 day, buy my own medicince and other parapernalia....
billing time : my doctor waived her professional fee, i was able to avail a deduction from philhealth and spend a total of P48,000 (first tsession treatment) !
Indeed God is good!
